Yuan Bou-wan, whose real name was Yuan Chi-tang, started his career in comics when his first work was published in Guangzhou newspapers before World War II. He created the famous characters of Kiddy Cheung, Miss Lau, Hot-Tempered Leung, Arrogant Chiu and Wong Chai. Especially his comics 'Kiddy Cheung' and 'Miss Lau' earned him so much fame that they were made into movies in the 1950s. |
