Gerolf Van de Perre

Gerolf Van de Perre was trained as a painter at the Saint-Luc in Gent, and afterwards became a teacher at this academy. Between 1999 and 2001 Van de Perre stayed in Peking, where he began working on his first comic, 'Steenstof'. Moved by the living conditions he observed there, he began working on this painted comic album, which was published by Oogachtend in 2003. Van de Perre used the same technique, making paintings and then compose them to a comic page, for his next comic, 'Huishulp'.
