Arild Midthun has been working as a freelance editorial cartoonist and illustrator since the age of seventeen, contributing to comic books and magazines such as The Phantom, Pyton, and Mad Magazine in Scandinavia. He has drawn a full range of comics and graphic novels, from action and thrillers to graphic adaptations of literary classics and comics for children. Notable titles are 'Truls & Trine', 'Troll', 'Reodor & Teodor' (all written by Terje Nordberg) and 'Ivar Aasen' (with Erna Osland).
Together with Terje Nordberg and Eirik Ildahl, Arild Midthun created the daily strip 'Dad and Dorothy', which started publication in May 1997. In 2004, he began to draw Disney comics for the publisher Egmont. A native of Bergen, Norway, Arild now lives in Oslo with his wife and daughter.
