Dick van der Maat was born in Haarlem. He made a new version of 'Tijs Wijs, de Torenwachter', a newspaper strip created originally by Herman Looman and Willy Smit in the 1940s. Van der Maat's version appeared at the publishing house Zorn in 1976. |
