Andrea Kruis, daughter of the famous 'Jan, Jans en de Kinderen' creator Jan Kruis, was born in 1962 in Rotterdam, The Netherlands. She studied illustration and sculpting at the Minerva Art Academy in Groningen. Since 1991, she has drawn the comic '15 1/2' about two teenage girls, for Margriet magazine. In addition, she draws 'Sammie & Muis' for Tina and 'Keetje en Waf-Waf' for Bobo. She also created 'Grietje' for a local newspaper in Groningen, as well as the comic 'Snuitje' for LEGO books. She has illustrated several children's books.
