Éric Juszezak, born in Douala, Cameroon, started out illustrating game books for Hachette in 1986. That same year, he made some comic parodies for publisher Albin Michel. Two years later, Juszezak made the interactive comic book 'Les Crocs d'Ebène' with scriptwriter G. E. Ranne at Glénat. Influenced by British and American comic books, he cooperated with Ranne again in 1990, launching the police series 'Les Héritiers' at Vents d'Ouest.
