Edith Hegenbarth, born Edith Szafranski, worked as a costume designer before she was hired by Hannes Hegen to work onthe production of the monthly Mosaik magazine, the most popular comics magazine of the DDR. She was one of the main collaborators, and one of the few whose name was mentioned with the credits. |

She eventually married Hegen, and cooperated on the 'Digedags' until 1975. She developed over 3000 model-sheets for the characters, and now lives in retirement with her husband in Berlin. |
