Mo Gollub worked in animation from 1937. Throughout his career, he has done animation work for such companies as Walt Disney, UPA, Pantomime Pictures, Sanrio and Hanna-Barbera. He was also a comics artist for Dell Publishing, where he did funny animal and adventure stories from 1945 to 1971. His Disney comics include 'Pinocchio', 'Bambi' and 'Robin Hood' and he did 'Our Gang' for MGM.

Between 1957 and 1959 he illustrated the educational wildlife comic strip 'Smokey the Bear', that was distributed through Columbia Features. The strip also had a Sunday page, and was credited to Wes Wood, although Gollub was the artist and Paul Newman the writer. Gollub has also done strips for Animal Comics and Fairy Tale Parade, as well as several western strips. He was the main cover artist of the classic 'Turok' comic books.
