De Muis

P. van Geldorp was a Dutch illustrator who made the pictures for the book 'De Muis, of de Gestoorde Nachtrust', which appeared in 1905. It was written by Braga Jr. His full name was Petrus Johannes Antonius Christiaan van Geldorp, an illustrator, etcher and lithographer who was born in Rotterdam. He received his education from his father and attended the Art Academy in Amsterdam.

He worked for the Sunday supplement of magazine De Tijd, De Engelbewaarder and De Roomsche Jeugd, among others, and was employed by Jurgens in Oss as an advertisement illustrator. Van Geldorp lived and worked in Paris for a couple of years. He is also known for the many school panels he made, which were published by Malmberg.

He made several illustrations for newspapers, books and magazines, and his pictures have also been published as postcards. He also published the books 'De Vondeling van Simmerath' (with W. v/d Berg, Den Bosch 1927) and 'A is een Aapje' (Amsterdam, 1937).
