Benjamin "Stookie" Allen was an American comic book artist, as well as an illustrator of pulps and Detective Fiction Weekly. In the 1930s, he did syndicated features like 'Above the Crowd', 'Bug Movies', 'Illustrated Crimes' and 'Men of Daring'. He also did filler comics for the early comic books of Dell Publications. During World War II, he was a lieutenant with the Co. A., 237th, 1106th Engineer Combat Group. He made several sketches of his experiences at the battlefields in Germany. |
