José Aguiar graduated in Plastic Arts, and works as an illustrator for the editorial and advertising markets through his studio Open The Door, which he founded with Luciano Lagares. He has done comics since 1989, and has made the cartoons series 'O Boi' for several periodicals in Curitiba, Pernambuco. He has contributed to magazines like Metal Pesado, Vôte, Front and Canalha, among others. He is the creator of Almanaque Entropya, Manticore-Comic and Gralha. He is comics teacher with the Gibiteca in Curitiba, and contributor to the cultural website www.omelete.com.br and the magazine Folha de S. Paulo.
